Producers will get a chance to hear more about changes to the farming world today, as the Ag Outlook Conference is in Swift Current.

There will be a wide variety of topics, ranging from recently-increased tarrifs on pulses in India to tax changes by the federal government.

Garth Burnett said the plan with the tax changes is to "tear down some of the myths that we heard that were proposed and have now been shelved, and then look at exactly what is going to be implemented by what dates, and how that's going to impact everybody in the room."

Things are expected to wrap up with what Burnett said would be a talk from Layne Stockbrugger.

"I know Layne from my history in agriculture, and I think he's got a story to tell. And I think that's the motivational part of the day; and that's how we'll wrap up the day."

The event, co-hosted by the Innovation Credit Union and Stark & Marsh, runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Living Sky Events Centre.
