Canadian Western Agribition is over for another year.

Organizers, Volunteers and Exhibitors are extremely pleased with this years show.

The final numbers aren’t in yet but officials believe attendance is up.

Last week’s Canadian Western Agribition featured over 2000 head of premium livestock, strong sales, a sold out trade show, excellent entertainment and an all-around good time.

President Stewart Stone says this year saw some changes to the footprint of the show with the new John Deere Sales Arena and use of the partially completed International Trade Centre.

"We made some changes to both our prgramming and our facilities and we were really gratified with the results of those," he said.

"The changes to the sale arena and to the ITC (International Trade Centre) and some of the other upgrades were all met with some really positive compliments and a lot of enthusiasm for next year when the facilities are finished."

Stone says demolition of the Stadium, Pasqua and Harlton barns is expected to begin in the Spring.

Stone was also pleased to see the strength of sales at Agribition as well.

"Certainly in the cattle and in the bison as well," he said.

"You never know going into the fall, especially this particular fall in the cattle industry has seen prices up and down and yet Agribition came through with very strong sales."

Stone notes this year saw the Bison videotaped for the sale, plus they had 10  purebred cattle sales as well as the commercial cattle sale and the new Agribition Select Horse sale.
