The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced single-digit increases of both new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and recoveries in their daily update Saturday afternoon.

Nine new cases were reported, pushing the overall total to 553 province-wide.

Five of the new cases are in the far north region, three are in the north, and one is in the central region. The central had zero active cases for an extended period of time - the south region now is the only area with none.

  • 0-19 y/o: 74 cases
  • 20-39 y/o: 196 cases
  • 40-59 y/o: 173 cases
  • 60-79 y/o: 94 cases
  • 80+ y/o: 16 cases

Meanwhile, five new recoveries in Saturday's update bumped the overall total to 340.

There are now 207 active cases of the virus in the province.

As well, four fewer people than Friday's update are in the hospital due to the virus. There are now 15 residents in hospital in both the north and Saskatoon regions - five are in the ICU and 10 are receiving inpatient care.

A total of 36,117 COVID-19 tests have now been performed in Saskatchewan.
