Aidyn Hutchinson scored 4:48 into double overtime to lift the Melfort Mustangs to a 4-3 win over the Flin Flon Bombers and a commanding 3-0 lead in the SJHL's Canterra Seeds Cup final.

Leith Olafson scored twice and Logan Belton added a goal in regulation for the Mustangs, who can complete the sweep and claim their first SJHL title since 2016 tonight at the Northern Lights Palace.

Game five, if necessary, will be in Flin Flon on Saturday.

Kopitar gets OT winner as Kings even up series with Oilers

Anze Kopitar scored 2:07 into overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night at Rogers Place. Adrian Kempe had two goals and Drew Doughty and Kevin Fiala also scored in regulation for the Kings as they evened up their first-round playoff series at a game apiece. Game three will be in LA on Friday.

Meanwhile, Brad Marchand scored twice, former Swift Current Bronco Jake DeBrusk scored his third goal in three games, and the Boston Bruins doubled up the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 to take a 2-1 lead in their series. Game three is on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena.

Elsewhere, Noah Hanifin had the game-winner in the second period as the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights beat the top-seeded Dallas Stars 3-1 to take a 2-0 lead in their series. Jonathan Marchessault and Jack Eichel also scored for the eighth-seeded Golden Knights, who host game three on Saturday.

Tonight, the Florida Panthers head to the west coast of the Sunshine State to Tampa Bay, holding a 2-0 lead on the Lightning, while the Carolina Hurricanes travel to Long Island looking to take a 3-0 stranglehold on the New York Islanders.

Jays suffer second-straight loss to Royals

The Kansas City Royals limited Toronto to just six team hits in a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday for their second straight win in the four-game series. George Springer homered, and Ernie Clement had an RBI groundout in a losing cause. The series wraps up this afternoon with Jose Berrios starting for the Jays.
