Now-former Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires alternate captain Maguire Scheidt is headed to the Rocky Mountains to continue his pursuit of the sport at the Junior B level.

The graduating forward was announced as one of the most recent roster additions to the Fernie Ghostriders of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Scheidt, a product of Imperial, played two seasons with the Legionnaires.

This past season was by far his most prominent, recording 13 goals and 30 points in 43 regular-season games in 2019-20. The alternate captain then averaged a point-per-game in the playoffs, recording four assists in as many games.

Scheidt then was named the recipient of this year's Players' Choice Award at the Legionnaires' annual awards banquet.

The 2002-born forward has the potential to join fellow alternate captain Rhett Evjen in southern B.C. this season, as the Swift Current product was announced as a commit last month, though is aiming to crack the Junior A level in Flin Flon.
