Fundraising walks and fun runs for many different causes usually get into full stride at this time of year, but as we all know, this year is different. With current restrictions on public gatherings, events surrounding these walks are not taking place, but the fundraising is still continuing.

The MS Walk, which is well-supported in Swift Current and the southwest every May, is going virtual this year with participants invited to walk or run in their own creative way, whether it's around the block, in their back yard or on the treadmill at home, while raising pledges to support those living with Multiple Sclerosis on May 24. In addition, the MS Society has launched #WeChallengeMS to encourage people to engage and raise money for the fight against MS in their own way.

Colin Powers talked with Jessica MacPherson, the Interim President for Saskatchewan and Manitoba for the MS Society of Canada on the Magic Morning Show today:

You can sign up for the Virtual MS Walk and #WeChallengeMS, and learn more about the different programs that the MS Society is offering online at mswalks.ca.

If you're organizing a fundraising walk that is moving online, you can still add it to our Events Calendar on Swift Current Online and we'll help get the word out!
