The Swift Current Broncos have bolstered a banged-up lineup by making a deal for goal scoring forward Ryan Graham.

Swift Current sent a 2017 2nd round bantam draft pick and a conditional 2018 4th round pick to Saskatoon for Calgary product.

Graham is a two-time former 20 goal scorer in the WHL as he put up 20 in 2014-15 and 22 in 2015-16.

“Graham is a player we have had our eye on since the beginning of the season,” Broncos Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros told the team website. “He is a skilled player that we are very excited about and he will help our hockey team. We’re happy to have him on board.”

This season Graham was on the shelf with an injury and didn't make his debut until October 28th. He has a goal and 4 assists for the Blades in 11 games and has heated up lately with 3 points in his last 4 games.

“Ryan has been a loyal Blade for over 4 seasons and has been a great ambassador for our organization on and off the ice," Blades General Manager Colin Priestner said on their website. "Knowing our overage situation, we met with Ryan and both sides agreed a change of scenery for his final season of junior hockey would be beneficial for both Ryan and the Blades.”

Saskatoon picked the 6'1, 204lbs forward in the 5th round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

He was impressive in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA league that season with 28 goals and 15 assists in 25 games.

He has also played for Team Alberta at the U16 tournament and Team Canada Pacific at the U17 event.

Graham made the WHL at 16-years-old as part of the Blades squad that hosted the Memorial Cup.

He hit the 15 goal mark as a sophomore and was a key offensive weapon for the Blades over the next three seasons as they struggled to recover from the deals they made in their Memorial Cup season.

In total Graham has 60 goals and 57 assists in 248 WHL games.

He also has some professional experience after attending NHL camp with the Minnesota Wild in 2014 and 2015.

Graham fills the second overage spot the Broncos have available on their roster. They still have room to add another if they choose to before the January 10th trade deadline.

He arrives in Swift Current as the Broncos are battling injuries with Glenn Gawdin, Calvin Spencer, Arthur Miller and Riley Stotts out of their lineup.

Graham will make his Broncos debut against his old team when the Blades are in Swift Current on Tuesday.
