The Swift Current Broncos drafted Riley Stotts and Aleksi Heponiemi hoping they could provide some electric offensive moments.

It didn't take long for them to deliver.

Heponiemi and prospect defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker set Stotts up for the winner only 13 seconds into overtime as Team White beat Team Blue 3-2 in the annual Broncos intrasquad game to wrap up training camp.

"We had a quick talk before we went out and said keep possession as long as you can," Bernard-Docker noted. "Those two went to work I didn't really need to do anything there."

Team White fell behind 1-0 in the first period when Dom Schmiemann forced his way down the left win and set Tyler Oakenfeld up for a nice deflection goal.

That's all the offence either team could mount in the first two periods as both clubs seemed to be trying to limit mistakes.

"We kind of regrouped after the first period and took it up a notch," Bernard-Docker said. "It was good."

The offence started to come alive in the third period as both team got less tentative.

"I think towards the end the game most guys were loosening up a little bit," said forward Quinton Waitzner. "We just went with the flow of the game, more physical and the puck seemed to flow a little more."

Team Blue actually extended their lead early in the third period when Carson Dyck took advantage of Matthew Stanley's miscue to rip a shot top shelf for a 2-0 lead.

Stanley immediately responded by scoring himself to pull Team White to within a goal. They then tied the game on a late power play goal from Jacob's brother Seth Bernard-Docker.

"He did a really good job there," Jacob said. "Coming to his first camp I'm pretty proud of him."

Curt Doyle for Team Blue didn't allow a goal in his half of the game. Bailey Brkin and Isaac Poulter for Team White each only allowed one goal during their halves of the game.

tweet by Brkin seemed to indicate the 17-year-old had signed a WHL standard player's agreement with the Broncos.

Only two players who finished last season on the Broncos dressed for the intrasquad game.

Swift Current made more cuts today and will suit up for the first pre-season game on the WHL schedule on Tuesday in Moose Jaw.
