The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan dropped back down under the 200 mark in the SHA’s Monday update.

The provincial health authority reported four new confirmed cases of the virus, along with a leap of 14 new recoveries. It's the first time in 13 days that the number of new recoveries was more than the number of new confirmed cases.

The active case total dropped from 209 to 199 as a result.

For the new cases, all four are in the far north region. There have now been 568 reported overall.

The jump in recoveries puts that total at 363 so far.

There was also a decrease of one in the number of residents hospitalized. Eleven people are now in hospital in the north and Saskatoon regions. Eight are receiving inpatient care, while three are in the ICU.

There have now been 37,439 COVID-19 tests performed in the province.
