Last week the Canadian Blood Services put out a call with a need for 32,000 donations before Labour Day in order to keep supply at a comfortable level.

The national inventory has dropped significantly throughout the summer which David Patterson, Director of Donor Relations in the B.C. and Yukon regions says is common but the demand remains constant.

All blood types are being sought but particualrly O negetive blood which is compatible with all types.

Swift Current and area residents can donate today from 9am-2pm at Bridgeway Community Church.

There are some walk in spots available or appointments can be made online at www.blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2Donate.
