Shaunavon District Fire and Rescue recently put out a call for N95 masks and a variety of other masks.

Shaunavon Fire Chief, Merrick Goldstein, says the response was great. "We were kind of scrambling there when COVID first came in. I was able to pick up 40 just around town, and then we just put  it out to the community that if anybody had any N95's. So, we're in good shape now.We have about 120 now."

Goldstein says the N95 masks are a respirator, not a dust mask, so they all had to be fitted properly and tested.

He adds that they use these masks specifically if they are called out to an accident where there could be coronavirus patients involved.

He says the masks will help to keep them, and the community, safe.
