The active COVID-19 case total rose back over 60 in the Sask Health Authority's Sunday update.

After back-to-back days at 57 due to a combined increase of 18 cases and 18 recoveries, the number rose to 61 due to four new cases of the virus compared to no new recoveries.

Three of the new cases are in the north region of the province, with the lone other case in the Regina region.

That spells 353 reported cases and still 288 recoveries overall around the province.

For the third-straight week, the south region has 15 overall reported cases, and again has one active case.

Breaking down the cases by age range:

  • 0-19 y/o: 29 cases
  • 20-39 y/o: 126 cases
  • 40-59 y/o: 120 cases
  • 60-79 y/o: 67 cases
  • 80+ y/o: 11

Five people are currently hospitalized around the province as well. Two of those individuals are in the ICU, with the other three receiving inpatient care.

There have now been 27,884 tests for COVID-19 performed around Saskatchewan.
