The number of active cases continues its ascent in Saskatchewan, as reported in the Sask Health Authority’s Tuesday edition of their daily update.

The SHA announced an active case total of 171 – an increase of 17 cases today, and jump of 49 the past two days.

There were 20 new confirmed cases announced today. The majority (18) of the cases are in the far north region of the province, with the other two in the north region.

That puts the overall number of reported cases at 487, with the majority of those cases still in the 20-39 age range:

  • 0-19 y/o: 58 cases,
  • 20-39 y/o: 174 cases,
  • 40-59 y/o: 153 cases,
  • 60-79 y/o: 87 cases,
  • 80+ y/o: 15 cases.

Three recoveries were announced as well. There have now been 310 province-wide so far.

Four Saskatchewan residents are currently in ICU – three in Saskatoon and one in the north region. The total number of people in hospital is 13, due to nine receiving inpatient care as well. Seven of those cases are in Saskatoon and the other two are in the north region.

The SHA is now just 79 tests shy of 33,000 performed in the province.
