The number of active cases of COVID-19 rose over the 200 mark in Friday’s update from the Sask Health Authority.

After just an increase of two active cases to 196 on Thursday, the SHA announced the total rose seven up to 203.

The daily update reported 13 new confirmed cases and six new recoveries.

A dozen on the 13 cases are in the far north region – all in La Loche. The other case is in the north region.

There have now been 544 reported cases and 335 recoveries overall in the province.

Seven more Saskatchewan residents have been hospitalized due to the coronavirus as well. The SHA announced there are 19 people in hospital after 12 yesterday.

Four still remain in the ICU with the other 15 receiving inpatient care. All patients are spread over the Saskatoon and north regions.

Currently, 35,176 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
