Saskatchewan saw its first double-digit increase in new cases of COVID-19 since the April 8 daily update from the Sask Health Authority.

The SHA announced 10 new cases Friday afternoon – nine confirmed and one presumptive.

There have now been 341 cases reported overall.

In the recovery column, another 10 were reported Friday as well. That puts that total to 280.

The active case total stays at 57 with the mirrored increases in cases and recoveries.

Once again there was no rise in the number of reported cases in the south region of the province. That total stays at 15, with the active case total still at one. See the chart below for the full regional breakdown.

Breaking the 341 cases down by age range:

  • 0-19 y/o: 26 cases
  • 20-39 y/o: 121 cases
  • 40-59 y/o: 117 cases
  • 60-79 y/o: 66 cases
  • 80+ y/o: 11

A total of 26 reported cases also still remain under investigation as to the cause/source of infection. 34 cases have had no known exposures.

A total of 26,586 tests have now been done by the SHA around the province.
