The Saskatchewan Health Authority has released its daily COVID-19 update for Wednesday, April 29.

The SHA has announced 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 383. Eleven of those cases are from the far north, five are from the north region, and one is from the Saskatoon area.

A Saskatchewan resident in their 80's from the far north region has died from complications related to COVID -19, bringing the death total to date in the province to six.

Eighty-six of the cases are considered active and, with no new recoveries reported today, the total recoveries remain at 291.

Currently, there are ten people in the hospital, seven receiving inpatient care and three are in intensive care.

To date, 29,106 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
