The Town of Gull  Lake has announced that the community's campground will  not open for the 2020 season.

Town Council reviewed the COVID-19 provincial restrictions for re-opening campgrounds and has decided that the campground will remain closed this season.

The restrictions for opening, together with the expected downturn in tourism will significantly impact the viability of operating the campground for the  season.

Also remaining closed for the 2020 season is the Gull Lake Museum.

Currently, museums are not able to open at this time. However, should they be given the green light to open at some point this summer, the Town realized that it would be difficult to hire staff at the last moment and implement a re-opening plan.

Gull Lake Mayor, Blake Campbell, said that both these decisions were very difficult to make and council thanks the community for their understanding.

He adds that both the Museum and the Campground will be back in operation in 2021.
