The Ag In Motion Field of Stars Fundraiser was an overwhelming success, that’s the view of organizers following Tuesday’s event.

The STARS Fundraiser included a Dinner and Auction and the Brett Kissel Concert.

Ben Voss, the Volunteer Chair for STARS Air Ambulance says the night was unbelievable.

“I’m very pleased to announce we raised $626,000 …. $526,000 was raised through the event and $100,000 through the Canadian Canola Growers Association. It was outstanding that we could raise that much money in our first year. Everybody was proud about Agriculture. There was a lot of great discussion about how Ag is an amazing industry and how we can come together and support an event like this.”

He adds it would be fantastic if we could do this again next year, everyone is asking.

Ag in Motion Show Director Rob O’Connor reflecting on the event said the night was overwhelming and they were pleased to be involved in helping raise money for such an important cause.

“It was a great first opportunity to do that. We’ll sit down with STARS and see if it works for them (to do another event) but we’re certainly willing.”

The live auction included a variety of agricultural products that participating companies provided for invited guests to bid on in support of a great cause.

STARS air ambulance is a vital tool for rural Saskatchewan and agriculture-based communities where quick action, timing and access to medical assistance can be critical when an accident occurs.
