Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart is heading to Denver to take part in the Tri-National Agricultural Accord.

The accord represents a long-standing commitment from Canada, the United States and Mexico to work together collaboratively on agricultural trade and development issues.

Stewart will promote Saskatchewan’s agriculture exports and stress the importance of open trade with two of the province’s biggest trading partners.

The U.S. is Saskatchewan’s top agri-food destination, accounting for nearly 25 % of all agri-food exports, with sales of $3.5 billion.

Exports to Mexico meantime are valued at nearly $623 million, making it the province’s fifth largest market.

Canola oil exports moving into Mexico are valued at nearly $39 million.
