Foothills MP, John Barlow, will be making his way to Europe on Saturday alongside the Federal Ag Minister, Lawrence MacAulay.

The Agriculture and Agri-food Associate Critic say they will be attending the G7 Agriculture Summit where they'll be visiting Germany, Italy, and Belgium.

"Now that CETA is in force, we'll be talking a lot about that. Hoping to talk to some of our colleagues now with Brexit. Maybe we can talk about a commonwealth free trade agreement with some of our commonwealth neighbours who will be there as well. I think that's something that needs to be discussed with the Brexit vote and the United Kingdom, and maybe if there's an opportunity, talk about the Trans-Pacific Partnership as well."

Barlow says it will be a great chance to meet with stakeholders and colleagues.

"There will be chances to build our network, talk to stakeholders, talk about other issues that are there, and try talk about out great Canadian agriculture products, agri-food and agri-businesses, and try and build some of those connections as well."

They will be on the tour for ten days before returning home.
