There are some big changes happening at the Canadian International Grains Institute with a new board and funding model now in place.

Three provincial wheat commissions and seven-grain companies/handlers have become core funders providing $7.7 million over the next two years.

The new board officers and directors were selected last week with Kevin Bender of the Alberta Wheat Commission serving as Chair.

Harvey Brooks and Bill Gehl from the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission are also at the board table.

CIGI CEO JoAnne Buth says this is an important milestone in Cigi’s 45-year history.
