Genesis Grain and Fertilizer continue to move ahead with their plans.

Construction on the first of seven fertilizer SuperCenters at Belle Plaine is expected to begin once we get through the wet weather this spring.Genesis 2

Bob  Friesen says the $24 million dollar facility will be state of the art with a capacity of 52,000 tonnes of fertilizer:

Friesen said, "Tha's meant to be turned three times per year so 150,000 tonnes per year. As I said earlier it has the ability to load and unload railcars. A fully automated, declining weight, blending system and we will also have the ability to mix in micronutrients."

Friesen notes farmer investment in the facility continues with just over 600 farmers from over 200 communities across Western Canada investing in the project.

The farmer-owned operation allows farmers to directly share in the responsibility and rewards of owning part of a major fertilizer supply and distribution system.

Bob Friesen says they’ve done their due diligence in touring other fertilizer distribution centres, noting the Belle Plaine site will be state-of-the-art

Friesen said, "Belle Plaine is the site of the manufacturing plant and that is where we want to build the first Supercentre. Farmers should not think that this is over, this is just the beginning. We've raised capital now to start building the first Supercentre and farmers that want to continue to participate can continue to do so."

A letter of intent has been signed with Stueve Construction for the $24 million, 52,000-tonne fertilizer Supercenter.

Genesis Belle Plaine is the first of seven SuperCenters planned across Western Canada.
