Elder Charolais Farms at Coronach walked away with the Grand Champion title for the President’s Classic at Canadian Western Agribition.

The President’s Classic featured 100 head of top quality bulls representing 11 different breeds.

Mike Elder says they run a Purebred Charolais operation with about 150 registered females and have been coming to Agribition for about 25 years and will continue to come out to the show.

He says winning the Championship in an interbreed competition like this is a great honour.

"You're up against the best breeders in North America and Canada," he said. "So it's a great honour to be in the ring and to win it is very special."

He adds it’s important for the Charolais Industry as well to win the interbreed competition noting the Charolais tan calves, buckskins and silvers are top of the market right now.
