Dr. David Kohl, a renowned agricultural economist is part of the RBC agricultural speakers series presenting "the ten golden rules of management".

He talks about how millennial are going to transform agriculture in the years ahead.

"The millennial they're going to be half of the work force in three years, 75 per cent work force by 2025. Of course millennial are 18 to 34 years of age. That group right there are going to move consumer trends, social trends, political trends, and also work force trends," he said.

He adds that millennial want things quick and fast and they want it as an experience.

Kohl also spoke about how now is a great time for young people to get started in farming.

"Machinery Equipment is much cheaper, we are finding that some of the land based cash rents are coming up. If you are a good manager in other words pushing the pencil or the computer button, that's where a lot of your money is made. You still have to be grounded out there with production management, but we are finding that it's extremely important," he said.

He adds one thing he likes about the younger generation is that they like think outside the box and are also good at understanding marketing and risk management.
