This week’s Nutrien Radicle Challenge Canada saw the final eight nominees making their pitch for a chance at a significant cash investment into their operation.

The grand prize of $1 million US in the Growth-Stage category went to Terramera out of Vancouver, BC.

Terramera develops high-performance natural alternatives to synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

In the Seed Stage category, Livestock Water Recycling out of Calgary won the top prize of $250 thousand US.

Livestock Water Recycling’s winning concept focuses around technology that segregates and concentrates manure nutrients into two valuable fertilizer products while recycling clean water for reuse.

The Nutrien-Radicle Challenge Canada was created to encourage and accelerate ag and food technology innovation in Canada.

The first time event attracted more than 100 of Canada’s most ambitious agriculture and food technology innovators.

Applications were then narrowed down to the final eight participants who made their final pitch to a panel of judges this week in Saskatoon.
