Saskatchewan based products are in high demand in the international market.

Kyle Reid is an Account Manager with Export Development Canada and says whether its agricultural commodities or equipment people are wanting Saskatchewan based products.

"You see that a number of different rural areas there's manufacturer's kind of spread out across the province that are kind of servicing the entire world with what the province has to offer."

The EDC provides financing, insurance, bonding, trade knowledge and match making opportunities for Canadian companies.

Reid says that the EDC was able to open a second office in Saskatoon since more and more farmers are entering international contracts.

"Definitely, since the end of the Canadian Wheat board monopoly, we've seen more and more farmers directly from the farm entering into international contracts and shipping direct, and a big part of what I do at the EDC is to minimize the risk of those contracts."

Reid adds that 49 percent of exports from the province are Ag-based and are mainly equipment of commodity sales.
