The Province wants to hear from farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses on the most effective way to deliver services.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart says an online survey on the Modernization of Agricultural Extension Services is available until March 31st.

"We think that over the years we have probably lost some of our clients," he said.

"Farmers find other ways to get their information, and a lot of that probably is online and a lot of it is from the private sector."

With that in mind, Stewart adds it is all about keeping up with the times.

"We don't know if, in this day in age, where so many things are done online that physical locations around the province are the best way to do Extension," he said.

Agriculture extension services include the business information, advice and support provided by specialists in regional offices around the province and at extension events.

It also includes the toll-free Agriculture Knowledge Centre phone line, as well as a variety of print and electronic publications.
