If the numbers tell the story then the 2016 edition of Canadian Western Agribition was a success.

Last year's event brought in a profit of over $745 thousand dollars and provided a provincial economic impact of $56 million dollars.

Agribition CEO Chris Lane talks about how the money they made from the show will be used.

"All of that money is going toward either reinvestment in capital expansion, we invest quite a bit in the facilities here," Lane said. "We're able to do things programming wise with that money, that makes the visitor's and exhibitors experience better."

He notes overall livestock sales reached $2.9 million dollars, the second highest value in decades, with an increase in international buyers doing more business in one year than they had done in the last 4 years.

Agribition President Stewart Stone is also extremely pleased with the growth of the show noting they are in the midst of one of the biggest transitions highlighting their World Class Facilities.

"We're very strong finically as we're on the edge of having absolute first class facilities that will be done this fall," Stewart said. "Our membership is strong and I'm very proud about that and it's a great way to end my presidency."

This year Canadian Western Agribition is set to run November 20th to 25th at Regina’s Evraz Place.
