A Think Wheat Seminar put on by Sask Wheat in Rosetown yesterday attracted about 85 producers.

The day covered some key topics from marketing to spraying to research efforts and new wheat variety options.

Fusarium Head Blight was a key issue for many producers last year.

The Province’s Plant Disease Specialist Barb Ziesman says the problem with F-H-B can carry over to this year:

"Fusarium levels in 2016 are going to impact 2017 in a couple of different ways, the first way is definitely going to be seed quality., 'She said. "So when it comes to seed quality we thinking about seedling blights and the other way is the

inoculant levels in the fields from high levels in 2016 are going to increase our risk going into 2017."

Today’s Think Wheat Seminar is taking place in Humboldt at the Uniplex Convention Centre.
