The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association is holding their Annual Convention this week in Saskatoon.

The group is holding their A-G-M this morning and is expected to focus on some key topics like carbon tax, excessive user fees, grain handling and transportation.

Executive Director Robin Speer says overall Saskatoon is an ideal location for this year’s event:

"I think Saskatoon is a really exciting location this year because there is so much happening in agriculture in this city," Speer said. "From a farming perspective of the equipment manufacturers, and the seed developers, of course, the research at the U of S, such a strong ag college there. Right up through the value chain to breweries, distilleries to food processors."

The Wheat Growers Convention wraps up Thursday at the Sheraton Cavalier.
