The Swift Current 57's came back to tie the game in the ninth and came out on top 10-8 over the Fort McMurray Giants in 11 innings to get their first win on their Alberta road trip and snap a five-game losing streak.

The 57's opened the scoring with an RBI single by Thomas Collins that brought in Justin Barnes, and then Barnes hit a solo home run in the third to tie the game up at 2-2. Mathew Ward then scored on a Logan Stockton sacrifice fly in the sixth, and then with the 57's trailing 6-3 in the top of the ninth, Stockton came home on a bases loaded walk, Tejean Smith scored on a wild pitch, and Nick Chavez came home on an error by the shortstop to tie the game up and force extra innings.

Mathew Ward and Thomas Collins scored in the top of the 10th to put the 57's up, but the Giants brought in two runs of their own to tie it up again. In the 11th, Cory Bonstrom scored on a fielding error, and Justin Barnes scored on a wild pitch, then Tejean Smith got the last three outs to clinch a much-needed win for Swift Current.

The 57's improve to 16-17 and are third in the East Division standings as they take on the Edmonton Prospects tonight in Sherwood Park. Edmonton beat Swift Current 20-12 in their last meeting on Wednesday.
