The Swift Current 57's couldn't get into the run column for the first time this season as they fell 2-0 to the Okotoks Dawgs in a battle of WCBL division leaders at Mitchell Field.

Hayden Cooper went 3-for-4 in the game with a double and Tejean Smith, Logan Grant, Justin Barnes and Logan Stockton also had base hits, but the 57's wound up stranding five runners on base in the game. For Okotoks, Alejandro Cazorla scored on a Brendan Luther double play in the third inning, and Noah Geekie hit an RBI single to score McCoy Pearce in the sixth.

Isaiah Ayalah took the loss on the mound, striking out three and allowing eight hits and both Okotoks runs over 5.2 innings. Brady Baltus threw seven shutout innings to get the win for the Dawgs, and Bode Brooks picked up the save.

The 57's had their five-game winning streak snapped and fell to 10-6 on the season, and they are now tied with the Moose Jaw Miller Express for the East Division lead after Moose Jaw beat Edmonton 6-1 in other action on Thursday.

Swift Current has a two-day break before heading to Medicine Hat to take on the Mavericks for a Father's Day matinee on Sunday, then they return home on Monday to face the Sylvan Lake Gulls in a make-up game for one that was rained out on Wednesday. First pitch is at 6:05pm from Mitchell Field.
