It was a close game for the Swift Current 57s last night as they played the Moose Jaw Miller Express, but not close enough.

The 57's fell behind in the first inning when Moose Jaw gained four runs to start the game, while the 57's only managed a solitary run.

Swift Current would manage to bring the game within two runs over the next three innings, and by the fifth inning, they tied the game, only to have the Miller Express take the lead again in the bottom half of the inning with a single run.

Going into the sixth inning, the score was 5 - 4, and again the 57's managed to tie up the scorecard with another single-run inning. But the Miller Express kept pulling ahead, full steam. They scored their last two runs of the game, taking the lead with a score of 5 - 7.

Swift Current continued to fight on, scoring another run in the seventh inning, and tightening up their defence. That would be the last run of the game, which would close out with a score of 7 - 6. The Moose Jaw Miller Express took the win, if just barely.

Swift Current will have another chance at victory tonight at home when they face the Regina Red Sox. Game time is at 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Field.
