Chinook Golf Course had a few good at-bats yesterday.

The Swift Current 57's held a community golf event, where about 70 people came to play with members of the team. Together, they teed off nine holes together before wrapping things up back at the clubhouse with burgers and drinks.

Swift Current 57's head coach and general manager, Jason Veyna, was happy to spend some time with the club's supporters and his team.

"We wanted to connect with the community a little bit more and get them out here and have some fun," said Veyna.

On the 57's, Veyna reckons that Jeremiah Sachez had the best game of the day, seeing as his father is a golf coach.

Some notable faces could be seen from the community at the event. Swift Current MP, Jeremy Patzer, joined in on the fun, along with members from the City of Swift Current like Brad Woods.

The 57's next game at home is this Friday, where they will be taking on the Saskatoon Berries, starting a three-game homestand.
