West Nile has been a threat in southwest Saskatchewan for the last couple of years.

Provincial West Nile Virus Coordinator Phil Curry says with this year's warm temperatures, and vast amounts of precipatation, misquito populations are bound to increase.

But Curry assures it's all good news for southwest residents.

" We've tested a number of misquitos from that area and all have been negative so far."

Curry adds 80 per cent of people do not experience symptoms, and less than one per cent suffer from severe symptoms.
