Over 200 animals have died in Saskatchewan from anthrax.   Saskatchewan is now dealing with it’s worst case of  Anthrax in 20 years.  Dr Sandra Stevens the C-F-I-A’s Regional Veterinarian says anthrax is an environmental disease adding that the animals pick it up from spores in the ground that have moved to the surface.   The hotspot remains around Melfort while 1 case was found last week at Chaplin.  Stevens says producers are being encouraged to vaccinate their livestock for anthrax as a precaution.
