BASF and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool are working together to offer farmers a production premium for Clearfield Wheat. The program is new for 2007 with the producer premiums varying depending on their crop inputs and production practices. Producers can earn premiums up to $10 a tonne but need to sign their production contract with SWP prior to March 31, 2007.   BASF has also launched its newest broad spectrum herbicide for Clearfield Wheat. The Clearfield Production System and Altitude FX is promoted as being the first and only herbicide tolerant, one-pass weed control system available for wheat in Canada. Altitude FX also has an extended window of application from the 3 to 6 leaf stage.
