Residents of Eastend and the entire southwest are celebrating a very special birthday today.

Scotty the T Rex is turning 65,000,028 years old and birthday celebrations are happening this afternoon starting at two o'clock at The T Rex Discovery Center in Eastend.

It was 28 years ago on this date that Eastend school teacher, Robert Gebhardt, discovered Scotty's tail vertebra exposed in a hillside near Eastend.

There will be cupcakes served as part of the celebrations, along with party games and treat bags for the kids.
