The Broncos hit the ice against the Red Deer Rebels tonight coming of a succesful outing versus the Kootenay Ice on Sunday.

Swift Current picked up a 2-1 win over the Ice, riding a brilliant 32 save performance by Jon Groenhyede.

Broncos Assistant Coach Andy Schneider says they'd like to take advantage of Red Deer's recent troubles.

"Teams like that can be dangerous because they're going to be desperate," Schenider said. "We've got to try and string some wins together to claw our way back into the playoffs."

The Rebels are on a ten game losing skid. They fell 6-5 in Moose Jaw last night. The 10th place Broncos are four points behind the 9th place Rebels in the Eastern Conference standings. Tonight is the first meeting between the two teams this season.

Swift Current is in the middle of a five game home stand. They will host Kelowna and Kamloops on Friday and Saturday.

Puck drop tonight is 7:05pm at the Credit Union iPlex. Our broadcast starts at 6:30pm on The Eagle 94.1 FM.
