Tonight the lights will shine bright, like a welding torch, over at the Great Plains College for Carhartts and Caviar.

The annual fundraiser sees folks come out for a night of socializing, bidding, and appreciation for the talent on display. This year, the show has sold out of all its 300 tickets, packing the college gymnasium to the brim.

Bryce Martin, the donor services coordinator for Great Plains College, has been hard at work preparing for tonight. He and others at the college have put together the best of what the College has to offer for tonight's auction.

"Carharts and Caviar is an event that is widely looked forward to by people who are attending the evening," noted Martin. "We have a variety of raffle tables available. The silent auction is a new feature this year. We also have fresh caviar tasting available for folks."

This will be the 11 annual Carhartts and Caviar in Swift Current. With over a decade under the belt, they now have talent that has previously graduated coming back to help sell items in the auction. Along with the students currently enrolled, they have turned out over a dozen fantastic features for the headline event.

"For a sneak peek at some of the items that will be available on the live auction, they are posted on the Great Plains College website under the news and events banner for Carhartts and Caviar," shared Martin. "Please take a peek ahead of time."

Attendees who make their winning bids tonight will be helping to fund a program which has turned out reliable skills, education, and employable men and women who have used their talents all over the southwest.

"The evening is full of opportunities to support the college's scholarship fund and the welding program, but the highlight of the night certainly is the live auction of 13 items this year, including our ever-famous Junkyard Wars competition between two groups of students."

Martin and the Great Plains College extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sponsored the event this year and in years prior, as well as everyone who has participated as a guest, donor, or supplier for continuing to make Carhartts and Caviar a reality.
