Celebrate the arrival of autumn with a carnival-themed fair in Gull Lake this weekend.

The inaugural Fall Fair lights up the town at 3 p.m., with games, activities, shopping, a car show, and more happening throughout the evening.

Economic Development Officer for the town, Lindsay Alliban, said the idea was sparked through the summer markets.

“[One of our vendors was] really interested in getting a carnival theme going so they kind of initiated it and got us on board to help,” she said. "We have various organizations helping with the event, and we just felt like we needed one last market as our markets went really well this summer. We just kind of wanted to wrap everything up with one Saturday event so more people could be involved.”

Set up on Proton Avenue and the Elks Hall, the event will have more than 10 different vendors for attendees to treat their sweet tooth, from cupcakes to popcorn to ice cream.

For those that prefer trinkets to snacks, there will also be goods brought by Handcrafted Leather and Woodwork, Garage Sale and Trunk Sale Items, and Prairie Witch Creations.

Alliban added that everyone can try a hand at the many carnival games as well, like balloon pop, duck races, or coin drop.

“It will be a great opportunity to come out as a family to the community and enjoy some fun games and entertainment,” she added. “The theater is doing an event that afternoon, too, starting at six with a car show, and they're playing Dazed and Confused. So it'll be just a nice day to drive out to Gull Lake and spend the day.”

She expressed their gratitude to the fair’s sponsor, Innovation Federal Credit Union.
