The City of Swift Current has promoted one of its bylaw enforcement officers and hired another one.

Alex Stevenson was elevated from bylaw enforcement officer in May to fill the vacant bylaw compliance and licensing official.

Swift Current's city clerk Jackie Schlamp told city council Stevenson's work warranted the promotion.

"Over the course of the last year Alex Stevenson, bylaw officer, has proven to be a very valuable asset, given his dedicated work ethic, expertise, and friendly demeanour," she said.

The City also hired Hayden Linsley on June 17 to fill the role Stevenson previously covered.

"With the organizational changes, both officers work under the direction of the city clerk's office, focusing on bylaw compliance and public education within our community," she said. "They will provide assistance to other divisions as needed."

Council agreed to approve five individuals as bylaw enforcement officers; Glen Herman, Jackie Schlamp, Alex Stevenson, Kelly Person, and Hayden Linsley.

They also approve that Schlamp, Stevenson, and Linsley will act as the City's three licensing officials.
