While there isn't any snow on the ground yet, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Swift Current as the city gets ready for a big event to kick off the holiday season.
The countdown is on for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, set for Thursday evening at 7 p.m. right in the heart of downtown.
Marlene Johnson, manager of Market Square, is excited for this year's rendition.
"I just hope to see everybody there and come and celebrate the Christmas spirit," she said. "It's the spirit of that evening that's there's nothing like."
Central School Choir will treat the public with some music, and the dance studio will also perform. Special guests Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive once the tree is lit for the season.
Johnson added that the usual treats such as hot chocolate, sleigh rides, and treat bags can be expected, along with some new surprises.
