Swift Current Navy League Cadets have a big project in the works for Remembrance Day next year, and they’ve put a call out for help from the community.

While the display itself remains a surprise, the organization needs hundreds of knitted or crocheted poppies of varying sizes to complete it.

Vice President Angelena Anderson said local response has been great so far.

“Already I've had two ladies actually volunteer to teach a poppy making class this Friday,” she said. “They're going to be doing that at SC Project Night. So that will be cool, and it'll get give some of us a chance to learn the craft as well and then be able to participate.”

The Swift Current Project Night takes place upstairs in the Masonic Lodge, starting around 6:30 p.m. tomorrow. Attendees are asked to use the rear entrance.

Anyone interested in helping out with crafted poppy donations can contact Anderson at (306) 750-7704, or swiftcurrentcadetbranch@gmail.com.
