The Doctor Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation had a welcome surprise with some grateful winners of their NHL Playoff Hockey Draft contest.

The contest built quite the anticipation, kicking off in April and lasting the duration of the playoffs. The top three winning teams took home cash prizes, but the third-place team had other ideas of what to do with their earnings. The Inn it to Win it team, representing Innovation Federal Credit Union, opted to donate back their $1,500 cash prize.

Crystal Imrie, communications and development coordinator for the Doctor Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation stated that the organization was in disbelief of the generosity.

“We’re so honoured and just can't believe the generosity of the sponsors and the people in in southwest Saskatchewan,” said Imrie. “Innovation has been a big supporter of the foundation for many years. Actually, a few years ago they won third place and donated that back then as well. They're a company that definitely supports the foundation a lot.”

The generous team was comprised of eight people, captained by Brad Torry.

“The event is always a really popular one; It always sells out,” explained Imrie. "Because the playoffs ran so deep into June this year, it's always exciting to see who's going to win. We're just very thankful for everybody for supporting the foundation in the event.”
