A pair of break-ins and thefts around the Simmie area earlier this week led to multiple arrests and a string of charges.

Shaunavon RCMP received report of a truck being stolen from a locked residence near Ferguson Bay on Sunday, with two adult men seen fleeing the area.

With the help of residents calling in sightings of the men and vehicle, the truck was soon found vacant on a rural road near Simmie.

According to a media release issued this morning, a second report was made near midnight on Sunday when a local homeowner experienced a break-in and had multiple firearms missing from his farmhouse.

The suspects fled on foot when confronted, but eventually surrendered themselves to police.

Patrick Ryan Price and Tyler James Poczik of Medicine Hat were both charged with break and enter to commit theft, theft of motor vehicle, mischief and various firearm possession and prohibition charges.

Their next scheduled court date will be in Swift Current on January 18th at 10:30 via CCTV from Regina Provincial Correctional Centre.
