The first Big Tickets have been won for Golden West Radio’s big promotion to go along with the launch of Country 94.1.

The Swift Current Radio Station flipped the switch yesterday, and turned 94.1 FM into a country station, along with the reformatting of the AM channels. To promote the switch, Golden West is doing two draws to take people to Las Vegas for three country superstar concerts, and a four-night stay at Caesar’s Palace.

The first winner of two tickets was Brad Stevenson, owner of Stevenson Accounting, who was surprised in his workplace by the Golden West team.

“It was pretty surprising, I think I'm in shock right now,” expressed Stevenson. “It's awesome; I'm really looking forward to this trip. I'll be taking my wife Melanie. I sent her a cryptic text, but I don't think she understood it, so I think she'll be excited.”

The three concerts which Mr. And Mrs. Stevenson will get to attend are Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.

“Probably the biggest highlight for me and Melanie is going to be the artists or the shows that are there,” stated Stevenson. “We'll see what else is going on while we're there, and neither of us gamble much, but it'll be fun.”

As there are still Big Tickets left, those who wish to enter the draw must listen in every morning at 7:40 for the Big Ticket Word of the Day or get it on the web by enabling the contest notifications with the Swift Current Online app. To enter, look for the Big Ticket button on the Swift Current Online homepage. Entries are accepted Wednesday, November 15 at 7:40 a.m. through Thursday, November 23 at 10:00 in the morning.

Stevenson made some closing remarks about his work with Golden west, and the launch of the new station.

“I find it's a good partnership working together and I'm excited to work with Golden West more in the future. My daughter likes country music. I think younger people are more interested in country music right now, especially in this area of the country and Saskatchewan.”
