Former Swift Current Bronco and current Portlant Winterhawks goalie Joel Hofer put pen to paper today on a three-year entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues.

Hofer was drafted in the fourth round (107th overall) of the 2018 NHL entry draft by the Blues.

He backstopped a young Broncos squad for 30 games this season, posting a 4.02 goals-against-average and .904 save-percentage, before being traded in a blockbuster to Portland.

Once in the Pacific Northwest, the 18-year-old Hofer played 18 games, posting a 3.18 goals-against-average, and a .911 save-percentage.

Hofer and the Winterhawks are set to take on former Broncos teammate Noah King and the Spokane Chiefs in the first round of the WHL playoffs, which starts Friday.
