The girls doubles team of Kahli and Kahlen Delorme of Maple Creek were the lone team from the southwest to qualify for the provincial high school badminton championships after winning silver at regionals in Regina on the weekend.

The duo went undefeated in their pool with wins over Central Butte and Rosetown, and then defeated Gravelbourg in the semi-final setting up a final matchup with Regina's Campbell Collegiate, who defeated them in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Hasit and Harit Desai of the Comp High School earned a bronze medal in boys doubles, finishing second in their pool with wins over Lafleche and Elrose and a loss to LeBoldus, before defeating Briercrest in straight sets in the third-place match.

Kahli and Kahlen will move on to the SHSAA Provincial Badminton Championship in Unity on Saturday.
