Tomorrow, the Alzheimers Society of Saskatchewan will be hosting their annual 'Walk for Alzheimer's' in Swift Current.

The walk helps to generate awareness for not only the disease it's named for, both other similar diseases as well that affect over 20,000 people here in Saskatchewan alone.

Angela Hodel is the events coordinator for the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan and is able to give confident answers to how the funds generated by the event are used locally.

"The funds that we raised through the walk stay within the province," asserted Hodel. "They go towards programs and services to help people that are affected by dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and it also goes towards funding towards a cause and cure."

The walk will begin tomorrow at 12 p.m. If you would like to register for the walk or donate, you can head over to walkforalzheimers.ca, where you can learn about the disease and the efforts to push back against it.
